Here at Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones we believe that every child should have the right to receive broad and balanced education that is relevant and differentiated, which clearly demonstrates development and cohesion. We value every child and their needs. We believe that the most successful way of maximizing the potential of every child is through a successful partnership between staff, parents, governors and support agencies.

Provision for pupils with additional learning needs is a whole school issue. At the heart of each class's work there is an endless cycle of planning, assessment and evaluation that takes into account a wide range of pupils' abilities, talents and interests. The majority of pupils will learn and develop within these arrangements. However, for pupils with additional learning needs it may be necessary to offer better provision that develops their learning skills.

The support we offer varies from child to child and we try to put the child central to any decision about how best to support them. This may include lesson support, literacy or numeracy interventions, Talkabout, mentoring or support at break / lunch time.
